Operation Snap

GoSafe regularly receives a number of videos and photographs of people driving dangerously, using a mobile phone, jumping red lights and many other forms of unsafe driving. Here’s some examples of submissions we've received and the action that we’ve taken against irresponsible drivers.

 

Dyfed Powys Police – Section 172 Fail to Provide Driver Details

The submitter of this footage was travelling on the A477 Red Roses- Llandowror Bypass when a Grey BMW overtook them crossing solid white lines.

Notices were issued to the registered keeper of the vehicle however they failed to provide the details of the driver of the vehicle.

The matter proceeded to Court for the offence of Section 172 Failure to Provide Driver Details. The registered keeper was found guilty and issued with a fine of £1000.

Dyfed Powys Police – Contravene a Red Light

A driver has been fined £146 and given 3 penalty points after driving through a red light.

Footage of the incident which occurred on Llethri Road, Llanelli was submitted to GoSafe through Operation Snap.

The driver was convicted of contravening a red traffic signal at Court.

Dyfed Powys Police – Due Care & No MOT

A motorist travelling on the A470 Builth Wells recorded a Silver Volkswagen Golf overtaking them without giving due care or attention to the safety of other road users. During police checks the offending vehicle also had no MOT.

The matter proceeded to Court for the offences of Driving without Due Care & Attention and No MOT.  The driver was found guilty and issued with fines totalling £880, 9 penalty points and disqualified from driving for 6 months.
