Dangerous Driver Jailed

Dangerous driver jailed after filming himself driving at 150mph and posting it on Facebook.

GoSafe received the footage from multiple concerned people. The self-posted video clearly showed Harman Bassainty , a 26-year-old from Morriston, Swansea, driving their black Rolls Royce at 150mph on the A449 in Monmouthshire. The video included the speedometer and the driver’s face.

GoSafe investigated the offence and sent Bassainty a Notice of Intended Prosecution. They replied to nominate another driver, despite the footage showing their face. This escalated the matter to Perverting the Course of Justice and further enquiries were carried out.

ANPR was used to confirm the Rolls Royce was in the area at the time of filming and phone enquiries confirmed that Bassainty’s phone was also in the area. They were interviewed and still denied the offence.

He appeared in Cardiff Crown Court on Wednesday, 12th November 2025 and pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and committing an act with intent to pervert the course of justice. He was jailed for 12 months, disqualified from driving for three years and ordered to sit an extended retest. He must also pay £1,000 prosecution costs.
