Freedom of Information

As a partnership comprising several public bodies, we often get requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act (2000).  Please find further information on the Act and Information below.

What does the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000 do?

The FOIA gives you a general right to ask for and obtain information held by the Partnership, although certain types of information will not be available as they are exempt from publication. It also places a number of obligations on the Partnership. The Partnership aims to promote openness and fairness in everything it does. Information released under FOI is placed in the public domain, however, information relating to personal data or linked to a speeding offence should not be available to the world and would breach other legislation e.g. the Data Protection Act 1998. Please see our publication scheme for further information on what information we publish.

How can I make a request for information?

If the information you require is not already available on this web site, you can make a written request for information under the Freedom of Information Act. Please see our contact us section for how to make a request.

How long will it take from making a request to receiving the information?

After we have received your request (and payment if applicable) we will start to gather the information requested and respond within 20 working days whenever possible or advise you of any delay.

Is there a fee for the information requested?

Where there is a fee, it will be calculated according to national guidelines. We will let you know the amount before we proceed. Currently under national guidelines we are allowed to charge for the cost of gathering and producing the information as outlined in the Appropriate Limit and Fees up to a maximum of £450.

What types of information do you release?

We publish a wide variety of information, most of which is available on our website. Please see our publication scheme for further information on what we publish.

What do I do if I think I have not been given all of the information asked for?

You can appeal to us directly by contacting us and the case can be reviewed. If you are dissatisfied with the response you can appeal directly to the Information Commissioner whose staff will look into the matter on your behalf.
