Passing your driving test is a great opportunity.
It means that all those hours and £££s of lessons have paid off and you can enjoy a new sense of freedom. However that new freedom can all too easily be lost..
If you are caught speeding you will either receive a £60 fine and get three points on your licence or be dealt with by the magistrates court. Pick up six points and you will automatically lose your licence and go back to being a learner.
What does this mean for you?
- You will have to re-apply for a provisional licence
- You will have to pay for and re-sit the practical AND the theory test
- You will have to be accompanied when driving by someone over 21 with at least three years driving experience.
- You will not be allowed to drive on motorways
- Your insurance premium will increase.
And don't be tempted to ignore your points - carrying on driving without a valid licence is an offence with a maximum penalty of £1,000!!
