Professional Drivers
Driving is a risky business. If you drive regularly as part of your work, the chances of you becoming involved in a collision are far greater.
Did you know?
- Traffic collisions while at work are the single biggest cause of employment related fatality in the UK.
- Statistics show that the annual cost of workers killed or injured on the roads is £3.5 billion.
- Company car drivers in the UK are 49% more likely to be involved in a collision than an ordinary driver.*

Tips for professional drivers
- Any driver of a company vehicle - whether LGV or PCV, van or car - has the responsibility to know the national speed limit for their particular type of vehicle on different types of road... and stick to it!
- Employers operating one or more vehicles as part of their business should never place employees in a position where they have to break speed limits to meet unreasonable deadlines
- Nobody has business speeding... and pressure of the job is simply no excuse! We believe prevention is a far better solution to the problem of fleet vehicle speeding than prosecution. To prove it, we’ve listed the location of every safety camera in Wales. See camera search for further information. We’re doing everything we can to encourage safer driving habits and educate fleet operators and their drivers on the perils and penalties of speeding... but we can’t do it without YOU!
